Museums throughout the Wild West collaborate proactively to make visits and bring rides full of joy to their patrons. On Saturday, 25th of June 2022, during preparations for the Great Western Steam Up at the Carson City Railroad Museum, NV on the 4th of July weekend, volunteers from around the Owens Valley congregated to help see off the Caboose SP 401, whose home is at Laws Railroad Museum & Historical Site. Temporary tracks were laid and the caboose was moved on a low-riding flat-bed heavy-equipment hauling truck-trailer. The trailers bed is equipped with standard and narrow gauge tracks, and the volunteers had to make sure the tracks align well.
